Shrimp and sausage pasta recipes

Begin by browning the sausage on a huge pan. Since we’re cooking fresh sausage, you’ll want to ensure that the sausage is cooked until it’s cooked through (until it’s no longer pink in its middle). Remove the sausage from the cutting board and cut it into rounds.

In the same skillet, make the red sauce by adding the garlic, onion diced tomatoes as well as tomato sauce and basil.

Mix in the cooked sausage as well as the raw shrimp. Then, cook the sauce until the shrimp begin to turn pink. It will take only about 3 minutes.

In the end, stir in the cream, and let it simmer for another minute or so.

Mix the sauce in with your favorite pasta that you cooked and garnish with Parmesan as well as a fresh herb (if you wish) and then enjoy!

The Italian inspired Shrimp and Sausage Pasta served with red sauce is great with any of these easy side dishes:

  • Breadsticks, garlic bread or an incredibly crispy French baguette
  • Green salad garnished with Balsamic Vinaigrette
  • Baked Broccoli as well asparagus
  • 2-Ingredient Italian Sugar Snap Peas
  • Creamed Peas

  • Sauce leftovers can be stored within an airtight container inside the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • You can store the sauce leftover inside an airtight bottle for up to three months. I suggest keeping the sauce separated from the pasta while boiling pasta whenever it’s time to cook the sauce once more. The pasta that is cooked doesn’t keep like the sauce.
  • To heat your Shrimp as well as the Italian sausage pasta Place them in a skillet or saucepan that is covered. Then, warm on low heat until the sauce has reached the temperature you want. Make sure not to overcook the sauce or heat it too long otherwise, the shrimp will turn hard and rubbery.

  • I utilized “Extra Large” shrimp (26-30 count), but any size shrimp can be used in this recipe. It’s just a matter of adjusting the cooking time as smaller shrimp cook faster. You will know when the shrimp is cooked when it becomes pink.
  • Use this recipe with any pasta shape that you like. We’ve utilized bowties (farfalle) in this recipe, but other options are fusilli, rigatoni, penne and angel hair. and spaghetti.
  • This recipe requires cooked sausage (such as Johnsonville Fresh Sweet Italian Sausage Links) However it is possible to substitute already cooked Italian sausage instead. Slice it into small rounds and then cook it in the pan. It will not take as long to cook in the event that the sausage has already been cooked.
  • Create Shrimp Sausage Spinach Pasta: add a few cups of baby spinach leaves to the pasta near the close of the dish when you add the cream. The spinach will soften almost instantly, and it will provide an appealing green hue to the pasta dish.
  • For a kick of spicy for a kick of spice, include the crushed red pepper flakes into the dish.
  • Garnish the dish with fresh grated Parmesan cheese and other Fresh herbs If desired.
  • Are you cooking for a small family? Cut the ingredients in half. The remaining recipes are the same.
